Texas Football
Two words. Texas. Football.
Being two girls from the University of Texas growing up with Vince Young, Ricky Williams, and Colt McCoy you could say we bleed burnt orange. We are hopeful that with Texas’ performance this past Wednesday in the Academy Texas Bowl versus Missouri that Texas football is back. This is the university’s first bowl win since 2012 and was ever surprising with three future nfl stars: Malik Jefferson, DeShon Elliot, and Connor Williams foregoing this final game. It was weird for both of us to not be cheering on Connor (one of our close friends) but are excited to see what the future has in store for him!!!
Although Houston is currently a tad cold (and getting colder!!) we enjoyed all that college football has to offer and this includes tailgating. We stopped by the Inside Texas tailgate and enjoyed Pinkerton’s Bar-B-Q. We must say if you’re in the downtown Houston area and in need of some good BBQ check this place out, i️t was delicious!!
With this weather in mind we decided to dress warm (s/o Kenn’s dad for bringing the hand warmers)! Kenn rocked a UT jersey with a dark heather gray long sleeve underlayer, her favorite ripped jeans from American Eagle (they may be rach’s favorite too since they go between both closets!!) and a burnt orange scarf from Altar’d State. Rach wore a white fur sweater from Anthropologie and Pilcro jeans also from Anthropologie!
We scored front row (okay maybe second row) end zone tickets to this high scoring intense game! Texas kept the lead the entire game and we were both thrilled and surprised!! Michael Dickson, another future NFL draftee, won the ever deserving MVP award as he pinned Mizzou within their own ten yard line at least three times (which he has done all season!!) As juniors heading into our final season we are excited to see what Texas has in store, as for now it’s a short farewell to Texas football and a warm welcome to Texas baseball!!
