Quest Bar Review
Think Thin. Cliff. Quest. …. The protein power bar possibilities seem endless!! However after months of trying different flavors, comparing sizes, and macros we have come to the consensus that Quest Bar is the way to go. Don’t get us wrong, there are some great options, but we love the nutritional benefits of a Quest Bar, versus the number of calories and great taste.
We honestly aren’t sure if either of us can go a day without having at least one!! Whether you have it for breakfast, lunch, or a dense snack, Quest Bars are not only a great source of protein but they are extremely filling. Most Quest bars range between 180 to 200 calories with 20 to 21 grams of protein and only 1 to 2 grams of sugar, making it our go to bar with the most effective macros.
They are great for on the go especially if you don’t have time to eat before you leave for class or work; therefore, we both typically have one for breakfast with coffee. If we are going to workout right after breakfast we both eat one and then split a second to give us the energy to last through an entire workout! If you don’t have someone to split it with, they will remain fresh if you just stick the other half in a baggie and have it within the next couple of days.
Our top two favorite bars are the Cookies and Cream and the Mint Chocolate Chunk. We believe these two are the most filling and love the actual pieces of cookie in them. They are perfect if you have a sweet tooth and need a healthy little dessert (...even if it’s dessert for breakfast). Our next favorite is Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. This one tastes very similar to “real” cookie dough, and if you’re a chocolate chip cookie lover this one will definitely be your favorite. Coming in fourth is the Double Chocolate Chunk, we normally turn this bar or the cookie dough flavor into Quest Bar cookies.
To make the cookies preheat your oven to 375 F. Cut the bar into 8 equal squares. Line a baking sheet with foil and use a non-stick cooking spray before placing the cookies on the sheet. Stick the tray in the oven for about 2 minutes remove and press the squares down. They might be a little hot here, so be careful! Place the tray back in for another 2 minutes and then remove to let cool. This makes for a perfect after dinner dessert or late night snack!
All in all, these bars are definitely our recommended meal replacement bar! They don’t have that chalky taste you can get with some bars and will keep you full and energized for at least 3-4 hours. We have yet to try the new Birthday Cake Quest Bar, but will definitely give y’all an update once we order a box (which should be quite soon)! We have tried a majority of the flavors and only mentioned our favorites, but feel free to let us know what y’alls are!
Cheers, Kenn and Rach
